Day 67, Fall 11: Blackberries Everywhere

Day 67, Fall 11: Blackberries Everywhere

I had a harvest of yams, cranberries, eggplant, and grape, so I should get a substantial profit today.

The day quickly turned into a foraging day when I went south to the forest to check for the travelling caravan.

A good fortune means I’ll do some fishing this afternoon and hope for something good.

I have a week to prepare my best stuff to show off at next week’s fair, so that will be what I’m focusing on until then.

Day 64, Fall 8: Panning for Ore

Day 64, Fall 8: Panning for Ore

20161019_205525

I caught this on TV in the morning – it’s a good heads-up that I should probably start saving some of my gold-star crops and other quality items.

Another lost item request in the mailbox today:

I kept an eye out for it as I ventured up to the mountains to check out the spot where that boulder used to be.

Willy beat me there and showed me where there was something shiny in the river.

Looks like I can start panning for gold now. At least, I hope there will be gold – Willy didn’t specify what kind of ore it was, but I’m hoping to get some new sprinklers installed soon!

20161019_211541

I walked all along the river without finding any shimmering spots for panning, so I gave up the search and went to visit Emily before she left for work.

She liked the blueberry tart, though not at much as yesterday’s aquamarine.

Still not progressing past 2/10 though… what other blue things can I find?

And now I’m at the weekly two-gift limit again, so I have until next Sunday to either mine for more aquamarines or try to find something else she’ll like.

One of my mixed seeds grew into an artichoke, which is a new crop that Pierre doesn’t sell. I put it into the seed maker and got two more back, which I planted with some quality fertilizer. They take 8 days to grow.

Lewis posted on the bulletin board asking for a sea cucumber to be delivered by the end of the day. I did some fishing in the ocean and ended up finding a super cucumber, but no regular ones.

Day 63, Fall 7: Fish Tank

Day 63, Fall 7: Fish Tank

Today was focused on completing some new bundles.

I had Demetrius’ “Researcher’s Bundle” ready to turn in, and I just needed a blackberry to complete the Fall Foraging Bundle.

While searching Cindersap Forest for a blackberry, I found the weekly caravan was here today. Remembering the lucky find from last time I shopped at the caravan, I knew I had to check what he was selling.

Day 62, Fall 6: Karl the Mediator

Check out today’s eggplant harvest with┬áthe Quality Fertilizer – only 2 out of 12 were of regular quality, with 6 silver and 4 gold ones.

Day 61, Fall 5: Emily’s Dream

Day 61, Fall 5: Emily’s Dream

Here’s today’s harvest:

The first bunch of bok choy and eggplant, and the apple tree is finally producing! That pale ale will go to Pam today for her quest. I replanted with sunflowers now that I can afford the seeds.

I took a blueberry from the fridge to give to Emily – going off my hunch that blue is her favorite color. I also baked her a blueberry tart in case she thinks a single berry is kind of a lame gift (which it probably is).

When I got to her house around noon, she was still sleeping.

Of course, that didn’t stop Karl from walking right in. I didn’t expect this next part though…

She’s in some kind of funky dream world?

“I came all the way here…”

20161009_215055

“…into your mind…”

20161009_215109

“…to give you a blueberry.”

She’s going to HAVE to pay attention to me now! Nice!

Well, that was strange. After this odd encounter it seemed a little awkward to offer her a blueberry, but she didn’t seem to mind and gave a polite “Thanks!”

I found Pam at Jojamart and delivered the Pale Ale she requested.

20161009_215522

She paid 350g for it and now likes me 50% more. The first satisfied customer – now it’s time to ramp up production.

I spent the rest of the day on Project Oak Resin, which is phase one of Joensuu Brewing Company. I tapped eight oak trees on the west side of the farm while clearing out the area around them.

Here’s the farm overview 61 days after moving in:

Where that grass is in the center, I’m thinking I should fence it in as a pasture for the animals and move the coop closer.
